The Book
Sibylla Schwarz was born 400 years ago in the middle of the thirty-years-war and died when she was 17. In her short life she composed over a hundred poems showing her remarkable talent and self-confidence as a writer. The graphic novel tells the story of its own making in a dialogue between the author and the Sibylla Schwarz Society who commissioned this book. Sibylla herself, wandering through the imagery, not only witnesses the ridiculous chaos of her time but also the posthumous journey of her works.
Sibylla was awarded the Comicbuchpreis der Berthold Leibinger Stiftung which made this extensive project possible in the first place.
Koeppenhaus – Literaturzentrum Vorpommern
In fall 2021 the graphic novel Sibylla first was presented at Koeppenhaus – Literaturzentrum Vorpommern. Greifswald is Sibyllas hometown and I was happy to start the show there. Thanks to Kati Mattutat and the crew I enjoyed their eager help and was free to design the space to exhibit drawings and paintings from the last years working on Sibylla. The opening was celebrated with a reading hosted by the Sibylla Schwarz e.V. represented by Monika Schneikard and Walter Baumgartner. Thank you all for having me.

Raum für Illustration Hamburg
In Spring 2022 Sibylla moved on to the Raum für Illustration in Hamburg were she was shown in the nicest rooms to find in Hamburg, Germany. Thanks again for the possibilities and the warm welcome.
Comic Reading
Since the early days of our comic festival The Millionaires Club in Leipzig we enjoyed performing comic readings in every way possible. It was an honor to go on tour with Sibylla again as a guest of so many great places. One of them being the Haus am Dom in Frankfurt who generously recorded our evening for everyone to watch:
